About BrightSparks Engineers

BrightSparks are our team of highly qualified broadband engineers who aim to help you make the most of your connected home. They will assist you with everything from installing your TalkTalk services like TV, phone and broadband, to fixing faults and making sure you're getting the best broadband speeds possible. What should I do if I have a problem with my service?

Important notice

If you are currently experiencing a fault, you can report this online in the Service Centre.

The service centre allows you to check your service status online, and report any faults to us. In some cases we may need to send a BrightSparks engineer to your home to carry out further checks. Our engineer visits are available Monday to Friday between 7am to 8pm and Saturday between 7am to 6pm. The first appointment that can be booked is 7am. The last available on a week day is 6pm and on a Saturday is 4pm.


Will I be charged?

This will depend on the type of fault you are experiencing and where it's located. If the fault is outside your property or caused by a fault with your TalkTalk supplied equipment then you won't be charged. If your visit is chargeable, the fee will be £65 including VATIf you miss your appointment you'll be charged £30 including VAT.

If the fault is to be found outside the property then further work may need to be carried out by a BT Openreach approved engineer as they are the only ones authorised to do this.


What else can BrightSparks do?

Need help installing your new TV equipment?

If you need help installing your new TV equipment when your Speedy Install pack arrives, you can book a Speedy Install Help Visit online via My Account.

Our BrightSparks engineers can help you with your TV equipment and will also assist with any issues you are experiencing after your TV service has been installed. If you book a Speedy Install Help Visit within 10 days of your Speedy Install Pack being delivered it's free of charge. After this date, your visit will be charged at £65.


Need to move your TV equipment?

If you want to move your TV equipment to another room, or you've moved home and need help installing your TV service again our BrightSparks engineers can help. This visit will be charged at £40 and to book simply contact us.

If you need help getting connected, book a BrightSparks Home Setup visit in our Connectivity Shop.

If you need assistance with your home setup, our BrightSparks engineers are here to help. They can help you set up your network and connect up to 2 devices such as those below as part of their visit:

  • E-Readers
  • Tablets
  • Smartphones
