Installing your mobile settings

You need to install internet and picture messaging settings before you can use the internet, and start sending the full range of messages.

Many of our mobile phones receive these settings automatically. Soon after you insert your SIM, you’ll receive a text message welcoming you to TalkTalk Mobile and letting you know that your settings will follow. It’s quite simple to install them as they come with on-screen instructions.

If for any reason you delete your Configuration message, you can have the settings sent again. Just text the word TALK to 40127.

Some Android devices will receive the settings silently in the background as a “configuration message”. Keep an eye out for this as you will not hear an alert. You can find the notification message on Android phones by following the below:

  1. Drag down the notification bar from the top of the screen
  2. Tap Configuration message
  3. Tap Install
  4. Tap next
  5. Tap Install
  6. Press OK
  7. Tap Home key to return to the start menu

If you've followed the instructions above and you still can’t send and receive picture messages, you may need to enter the settings manually. See below for instructions:

The place to do this should be in your 'Settings' menu under 'Network settings' or 'Access Point Names' (APN). On an iPhone, tap Settings in the main iPhone menu > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network. Once you’ve found the place, enter all of the below configuration settings:
