How do I check and update the software version on my YouView Box?

Whenever a new software version is released, we’ll update your YouView Box automatically. This means you don’t have to do it yourself. All you have to do is ensure your box is connected to the internet and is switched on or in stand-by mode. The set top box will check for new software each night, so it is advisable to keep the box in stand-by and the router connected to the internet.

Software updates are there to ensure your YouView Box is performing at its best and to iron out any faults. This ensures you the best TV experience possible.

If you would like to check for an update manually, you can do so using your remote control:

  1. Press the YouView YouView button button on your TalkTalk remote
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Device Management
  4. Select Software Update
  5. Select Get Update

If required, your YouView Box will install the latest version of the available software.

 

How do I check which version of the YouView software I’m running?

To check the current software version your YouView Box is running:

  1. Press the YouView YouView button button on your TalkTalk remote
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select System Information
  4. Select Software Versions
  5. You’ll now be able to see the Manufacturer Software and Component Software version numbers on your screen
