How do I get my router ready for TalkTalk TV?

So you can enjoy all that TalkTalk TV has to offer, including access to 24/7 On demand content and Boost channels like Sky Sports and Sky Movies, you need to ensure you have a router that’s ready for YouView.

If you are not using a TV-ready router, or do not have the latest updates installed, then you may experience problems watching programmes, which will result in on-screen error messages on your YouView box.

 

Checking your router is compatible

If you’re a new customer then this couldn’t be easier. We’ll send you a brand new router when you sign up. This will be compatible with your TalkTalk TV service with no need to perform manual updates.

If you’re an existing TalkTalk customer, we’ll check your router is compatible with the TalkTalk TV service when you place your order and we’ll make sure we upgrade you if it isn’t.

Making sure your router software is up to date

The good news is that on almost all the TalkTalk routers, we do this automatically, so you don't have to worry about it. 

For customers who have the D-Link DSL-2780 router, the software on this router needs to be updated manually. To find out if you have this router, check the picture below or look at the manufacturer sticker on the back of the router.
