How do I reset my YouView Box to factory settings?

Resetting your YouView Box to factory settings can help fix certain issues. However, please be aware that if you do complete the reset, you’ll lose any programmes you have recorded, any scheduled recordings and any personal settings. This is why we only recommend it as a last resort.

If your box has simply frozen and requires a reset, you can perform a simple power down by either turning it off at the mains or using the power button at the back of the box.

If you still want to reset your YouView Box to factory settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press the YouView YouView button on your TalkTalk remote
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Device Management
  4. Select Reset YouView Box
  5. Select Reset
  6. Confirm you want to reset the YouView Box to factory settings by pressing OK on your TalkTalk remote when you see the Are You Sure? Pop-up screen.
  7. You will now be guided through the step-by-step reset process. Simply follow each on-screen instruction until your box is fully reset.
