How do I withhold my telephone number?

Withholding your telephone number means that whoever you’re calling won’t be able to see it. That means it won’t appear in Caller Identification or be available if they use Last Caller ID

Using withhold number

There are two ways to withhold your number. You can either activate it individually for each call you make or you can activate it as a service and apply it to all the calls you make.

To withhold your number on individual calls simply dial  on a touch tone phone before entering the telephone number you’d like to call.

To withhold your number on ALL calls, follow these steps:

1.       Log in to My Account

2.       Select Phone & broadband from the menu on the left

3.       Now select Manage services

4.       Tick Withhold Number in the Privacy features section

5.       Click Update

Will it cost anything?

Withhold number is a FREE service, so won’t cost you anything to activate or use.

How do I switch this feature off?

Follow the steps you used to activate this feature in My Account, only this time remove the tick next to Withhold number and click Update to confirm.

I can’t get through to certain numbers now this is active

Please be aware, if the person you’re calling has an active service that automatically rejects anonymous calls, you won’t be able to get through. If you’d like to speak to them, try disabling this feature.

You can do this quickly by dialling  before the number you want to call.
