Simply insert your TalkTalk SIM card into your mobile and switch it on.
Activate your service by calling 2883 from your mobile. Make sure you have both your Bank Account details and the new TalkTalk mobile number handy (this is for security reasons). Our secure automated activation process will ask you to enter the last 4 digits of your Direct Debit account number. This is the bank account you are using to pay your monthly TalkTalk Mobile bills.
For example: If your bank details were Sort code (11-22-33) and Account number (01234444). You would need to enter 4444 in order to complete the activation process.
This is free of charge and should be a quick call.
Your line rental charge will start on the day you activate your SIM card. Or, 9 days after we dispatch your order, even if it's inactive. We recommend you call us and activate your SIM card as soon as you receive it. If you have not received your mobile or SIM card, please see where is my mobile or SIM order?

If you've purchased a new mobile phone from us your TalkTalk mobile number will be shown on your confirmation email. If you've joined one of our SIM only packages, your mobile number will be printed on your welcome letter and on the back of the SIM pack.
You can also find your mobile number by dialing *#100# on your keypad after inserting your SIM card. Your number will be displayed on the screen.
Your TalkTalk mobile SIM card needs to be active before you can transfer your existing number. Once you have followed the steps above, log in to My Account where you'll see your TalkTalk mobile number. Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your current mobile number to your TalkTalk SIM card. Please see Port my number - To TalkTalk Mobile for more information.
If you have any problems dialing the automated activation line, simply remove the battery and SIM card, reinstall checking that the SIM is inserted correctly, and dial again.
For SIM only customers, If your phone doesn't work straight away after inserting your SIM, your handset may be locked to another network. Just give your current network provider a call and they'll unlock it for you (usually free of charge).
