Set up TalkTalk email in Outlook 2003/2002

Important notice for Windows 10 users
For users who have recently upgraded to Windows 10, you'll need to have Administrative Rights to be able to send emails in Microsoft Outlook. To amend this setting please follow the instructions below:

1) Click Start.
2) In the Start Search box, type cmd, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
3) If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
4) You’ll see a rectangular black window appear with a folder and a flashing cursor, type in sfc/scannow (this may take a few minutes).
5) Once complete, type in exit
6) Close Outlook and restart your device to solve the issue.



You can set up Microsoft Outlook to send and receive email from your TalkTalk email account. To set up your TalkTalk email in Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2002, follow these steps:

  1. In Microsoft Outlook, select the Tools menu at the top of the screen and then select E-mail Accounts.
  2. Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.
  3. Select IMAP and click Next again.
  4. Enter your name as you would like people to see it when you send them email in the Display Name box and click Next.
  5. Enter your TalkTalk email address in the E-mail Address box.
  6. In the Incoming mail server (IMAP) box, type Please do not include any spaces and ensure you type this address exactly as it appears on this page.
  7. In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, type Please do not include any spaces and ensure you type this address exactly as it appears on this page.
  8. In the email username box, type your In the E-mail User Name box, type your full TalkTalk email address in lowercase.
    Note: This is the same email address that you entered in step 5 above.
  9. Type your password in the Password box, ensuring that it is case-sensitive. This is your email password that you created when you set up your email address. Forgotten your password?
  10. If you want Outlook to remember your password, so you don't have to enter it every time you check your email, tick the Remember password box.
  11. Click Next and then click Finish to complete the setup.
