Simply insert your TalkTalk SIM card into your mobile and switch it on.
To activate your service, just call 2883 from your mobile. Our secure automated activation process will ask you a personal question to identify you as the mobile service owner. This is free of charge and should be a quick call.
If you are unable to answer the automated security question, don’t worry, just stay on the line and you will be automatically transferred to Customer Services who will get have you up and running in no time.
You can also activate your mobile service from a landline telephone. Call 0870 087 8751 to speak to an agent. Have your mobile number to hand as you will need this on the call.
Your TalkTalk mobile SIM card needs to be active before you can transfer your existing number. Once you have followed the steps above, log in to My Account where you'll see your TalkTalk mobile number. Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your current mobile number to your TalkTalk SIM card.
If you have any problems dialing the automated activation line, simply remove the battery and SIM card, reinstall checking that the SIM is inserted correctly, and dial again.
For SIM only customers, If your phone doesn't work straight away after inserting your SIM, your handset may be locked to another network. Just give your current network provider a call and they'll unlock it for you (usually free of charge).

All TalkTalk mobile handsets are compatible with our service.
If you are a SIM only customer and you receive an error message after inserting your TalkTalk sim, the handset you are trying to use with your TalkTalk service may be locked to another network.
