Super Safe Boost FAQ

Protect yourself and your family online with our award winning software developed by Internet security specialist F-Secure. The Super Safe Boost protects you against Internet threats including viruses, worms, spyware, phishing attacks, hackers and also includes parental controls.

This software is for computers running Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS only. To protect other devices like Tablets and Smart phones we recommend activating our Virus Alerts which are free as part of our HomeSafe® package.

Is the Super Safe Boost the same as HomeSafe?

They are two different tools which work in different ways. We recommend using them together to offer the best protection against online threats.

  • Super Safe Boost: This is Anti-Virus software for computers and laptops, protecting your computer against viruses, spyware and malware. We recommend you download this onto your Mac and Windows computers to keep safe from Internet nasties.

  • HomeSafe: This is our free network level security which helps to protect all the devices connected to your TalkTalk router, like tablets and smartphones. There is nothing to download, you simply activate the Virus Alerts in My Account.

I'm having problems with the Super Safe Boost

If you're experiencing problems with the Super Safe Boost, follow our steps below:

Step 1: Is your device compatible?

Make sure you're only using the software on compatible PCs and Macs. The Super Safe Boost isn't compatible with other devices. If you want to protect these, we recommend activating our Virus Alerts which are free as part of our HomeSafe® package.

Step 2: Are you using the latest version?

If you signed up to the Super Safe Boost a while ago, and have been renewing it, you might be using an older version which might not be giving you the best performance. Most issues can be fixed simply by removing the old one and reinstalling the newest version.

You can easily identify whether your Super Safe boost needs updating by checking if your desktop icon matches the one below. If it does, we recommend uninstalling the old version, and installing the new one to get the best from the Super Safe Boost.
