About part month charges

Part month or pro rata charges are added to your account when you add a service part way through your billing period. It's a way of billing you from the date the service was added until the start of your usual billing period.

Your first invoice with TalkTalk will contain part month charges for your package and any boosts or calling features, as well as your first month’s advance subscription charges. This can lead to your first bill being a little higher than you may expect, but there are no hidden costs.

Where can I see the part month charges?

You'll find any part month charges in the last month's changes section on your bill. Or, if you're a new customer receiving your first bill, you'll find them under charges since you joined. Here you'll find the amount you're being charged and the dates that you're being billed for.

Part month credits

You'll be able to see part month credits, which are also called reversals on your bill, in the last month’s changes section for any package or boosts and extras you might have removed. You may see a reversal on your bill if you changed your plan part way through your billing period. These are charges you'll be refunded for because they cover the cost of your old plan from the date you changed to the date of your bill.

Discount reversals

You may also see discount reversals for a package, boosts, or extras in the form of notifications. This is where you had a discount that has been removed part way through your billing period. In this case, you will see a notification that explains that the charge includes a reversal of the associated discount.

What happens if I change my package?

There'll be advance month charges for the new package alongside any new boosts and extras added in the charges in advance section of your bill.
