Managing my Webmail contacts

Keep track of your email contacts, from importing and exporting them to setting up contact groups.

Depending on your webmail, the steps may vary slightly so we've included the variations to help you. You'll need to be logged into your webmail account first before following the steps below. If you've forgotten your password, you can easily retrieve or reset it.

 

Adding and deleting a contact

 

  1. Click on Contacts in the left hand menu.

  2. Click either the Add contact or New button at the top of your screen. If you clicked New, you'll need to then select New Contact.

  3. Enter the details for your contact to add it to your address book. Then click either the Save or Create button.

  4. To delete a contact, click the tick box next to your chosen contact to select it. Then click on the delete button at the top of the screen to remove it. A dialog box may open asking you to confirm you want to delete it. If this happens, click OK

 

 

Editing a contact

 

  1. Click on Contacts in the left hand menu.
  2. Depending on your webmail, either:
  • Hover your cursor over your chosen contact and you'll see an edit button to the left of the email address. Click this, edit the information and then click on save to confirm your changes.
  • Click on your chosen contact and a blue edit button will appear. Click this, edit the information and then click the blue save button to confirm your changes.

 

 

Creating a contact group

 

Contact groups are a quick and simple way to send emails to lots of people without having to add individual addresses into the To box every time.

  1. Click on Contacts in the left hand menu.

  2. Click Add group from the options underneath the Contacts header, or click the New button then New List.
  3. Add the contact details for all the people you want to be in your group. You can type in new email addresses as well as adding contacts which are already in your contact list.
  4. Click Save or Create
  5. You can view your contact groups under the same Contacts menu as above. You may need to click View groups to see them.

 

 

Importing your Webmail contacts

 

  1. Click on Contacts in the left hand menu.

  2. Scroll down to the Import Contacts, or click on the Tools button then Import.

  3. Choose the type of file your contacts are stored in. Click on Choose File or Browse to search for your contacts folder and then confirm your choice by clicking Import Contact or the Import button. A message may appear showing the number of contacts which have been successfully imported.

 

 

Exporting your Webmail contacts

 

It's always a good idea to export your contacts to keep as a back-up. If you do happen to lose or delete any by mistake, you can then easily get them back by importing them again.

  1. Click on Contacts in the left hand menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Export Contacts section or click on the Tools button then Import.
  3. Choose the type of file you want to export your contacts to.
  4. Choose the destination for your exported contacts and click Export Contacts or the Export button.
