Weird behavior from this morning

Tried to open Chrome with Google as home page this morning, but got a "This site can't be reached"

Also cannot load Amazon, eBay, same with my local library page, MobileRead forum etc.

I cannot open anything with Chrome.

Tried Edge and everything works, can download Amazon, eBay etc. etc.

I also use Thunderbird as an email client, and that isn't loading any new emails either, and doesn't even let me know it can't download them.

I've run a full scan using my virus checker and it's found nothing under malware or system.

Just turned of the Firewall, still not working.

That's both Windows Defender and Kaspersky firewalls off.

It's part of Kaspersky I think, I have paused protection, still not downloading.

Plus, nothing changed, all of a sudden I couldn't download pages in Chrome and all the other stuff.

Edge is still working though.

Hi Qwghlm,

Do you have a firewall on your PC? Wondering if it could be something to do with the firewall settings

Edge seems to be working, but my email client Thunderbird cannot connect.

I also get an error code when trying to run my Steam account

I can't even sign into my account on Chrome as

Morning,

Thanks for trying this. Can I just confirm, is Chrome the only browser affected? Has it recently updated to a newer version?

Thanks

Michelle

Turning router off not helped I'm afraid.

Hi Qwghlm,

Can you switch your router off and leave it off for at least 30 minutes, then switch back on and retest. Please let us know how you get on

Also uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird, and that's now working.

Still no Chrome though

I can download all my emails using my iPad, so it's definitely something that has changed on my PC

I'll pass this over to TalkTalk and they can get their Networks department to comment.

I've cleared the cache, and can even get Google to search, and get the results loaded, but if I click on any of them it comes up with "This site can't be reached"

Just tried sending an email and got

I have no idea what is going on.

Certainly in Chrome, I can get everywhere I normally can including Amazon & Thunderbird is fine. Have you tried clearing the Cache in Chrome?
